MANAGER: DISTRIBUTION CENTRE

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The incumbent will be responsible for the effective management of inventory functions, which includes the safe and efficient storage of goods, timely ordering and distribution of the correct quantity of goods to ensure the correct range is ordered and delivered to the right locations at an affordable cost.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Grade 12
  • At least 8 years’ FMCG retail experience of which 5 years should have been at a senior management level.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Research, plan, implement and manage an effective NVF Namibia Distribution Center business unit to effectively support and serve the PnP Namibia business model and strategy.
  • Develop continuous improvement initiatives and share best practices with team members
  • Responsible for excellent quality control over products received and dispatching by the DC.
  • Prepare budgets and manage expenses within budgets.
  • Overseeing stock control and processing orders.
  • Responsible for stock ordering from NVF SA DC’s, based on stock availability.
  • Responsible for the correct quantity of stock allocations to PnP stores based on stock on hand and rate of sale.
  • Generate monthly reports of inventory levels for management.
  • Ensuring the health, safety, cleanliness and security of the work environment.
