GRADUATE TRAINEE: BAKERY SPECIALIST

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To train department staff on how to assist customers in the Bakery department. Assist in increasing financial performance of the Bakery by identifying areas of opportunities in production areas. Create a plan of action to manage profitable, effective and efficient operations of the Bakery in all PnP Stores
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Diploma / Technical Certificate in Culinary Cookery
  • Namibian Citizenship/ Permanent Residence Permit
  • Above average academic results and recognition of potential (we are really looking for the most passionate youth out there and will require your academic record as part of your application
  • Only candidates with less than 6 months’ work experience in their field of study will be considered
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Assist Specialist with implementing best practices for the purpose of attracting customers and boosting sales
  • Ensure effective preparation for stock takes
  • Monitor departmental growth in line with each store growth and provide recommendations to Specialist accordingly
  • Implement production schedules and food safety standards and assist Managers and Supervisors with these accordingly
  • Develop and implement new products to stay competitive in the market
  • Ensure sufficient stock is available from vendors to put on display during promotions
  • Train department staff on how to assist customers with queries on stock and use of products
