HEAD OF DEPARTMENT: FACILITIES MANAGEMENT

LOCATION : WINDHOEK
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To lead the Facilities Management (FM) Department and implement its strategic plan through innovation, team work and superior customer service.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering
  • 8 years Senior Management experience of which 5 years should be in leading people and developing strong teams.
  • Working knowledge of architectural, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Working knowledge of leases, contracts and related documents
  • Valid Code 8 Drivers license
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Assume responsibility for the development and implementation of effective strategic plans, budgets, policies and operational procedures for the facilities management department.
  • Responsible for departmental growth generation by expanding on the Client base as well as service lines.
  • Leverage through innovative ideas, external parties, suppliers, advisors and/or consultants to improve and grow the departments’ profitability.
  • Serve as primary Client contact and provide the highest level of client service delivery and bottom line performance at all times.
  • Create and lead high performing cross functional teams to deliver on the agreed outputs, Client budgets and ensure continuous customer operational uptime.
  • Provide monthly Client feedback and reporting and ensure Clients’ concerns, queries and/or requests are dealt with within the shortest time possible.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Experienced customer relationship builder who can engage on senior levels
  • Creative strategic thinker with high ethical standards and a professional image
  • Excellent negotiating and contracting experience
  • Excellent operational, financial and organizational capabilities
  • Ability to organize, coordinate, direct and manage teams
